You might remember how ecstatic I was after using Brazened Honey! Everything about it was perfect :) So I was happily prepared to drop some more dough at Lush and try another mask. There were so many to choose from and while Brazened Honey was amazing, I am always looking for something even better. If I didn't do that..I'd be a pretty bad beauty blogger.
With the help of a lovely sales assistant I bought Cosmetic Warrior. Grey-ish taupe in shade and as the photos hopefully show, chunky in texture. This mask is supposed to help combat breakouts using tea tree oil, garlic, grapes, eggs and honey. It has properties that can "smooth and tighten the pores" as well as moisturize. All for $6.95
So what did I think? The mask felt very cooling and refreshing. My skin felt calmed down once I washed it off. I didn't get any new breakouts during the 2 weeks and I thought it helped with a few nasty spots along my chin. Keep in mind I use this in conjunction with other skin care items; masks, moisturizers, cleansers etc!
My reservation with this product is the smell. It is gross. There is no way around it. The combination of garlic and tea tree oil just does it. The scent took away the 'pampered' feeling I typically get from using a mask. It wasn't horrible enough that I stopped applying the product. Just like the other mask, there was enough inside to cover my face about 4 times.
Overall: If you are extremely sensitive to smells or hate garlic this is not the mask for you! On the other hand, if you are willing to pinch your nose and do something good for your skin I would recommend this mask. Yes it stinks but your face will thank you. I would still recommend Brazened Honey over this one.
I really want to try more lush masks! The only one I've ever tried is the mask of magnaminty, which I love!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep that one in mind!
DeleteI LOVEEEEE the Lush fresh face masks so much! I've tried Brazened Honey, Love Lettuce and Catastrophe Cosmetic. You can check out my post here: http://theprettyvain.blogspot.ca/2012/04/review-lush-fresh-face-masks.html
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the chance to try out Cosmetic Warrior yet probably for the scent reason haha.
Lovely post doll <3 xo
Love Lettuce sounds cool (good for my inner vegetarian) ^.^
DeleteI was contemplating on trying this one but not sure about the garlic scent on my face. Definitely have to check it out on my next visit. I just finished using the Catastrophe cosmetic and absolutely will repurchase it again.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely want to try it for yourself-maybe I am just crazy and other people actually like the scent!
DeleteI bought this the other day hoping to treat my skin a little and i must agree with you about the smell...It is awful. Also when i try and wash it off, theres always garlic residue remaining in the sink which is a bit disgusting. However, the mask does leave my face feeling really soft :) Brazened honey is the best LUSH fresh face mask i have tried so far. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences xoxo

Nothing is good about garlic residue...luckily I didn't have that problem. I usually wash it off in the shower.
DeleteNo problem--thanks for reading Ying <3
This sounds good but the smell might put me off! I really need to try Brazened Honey, everyone says it is amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteYes. Try it a.s.a.p :]
DeleteI'm really funny with scents so doubt I would be able to use this but its good to know it actually works.
