Review: Dior Hydra Life BB Cream

BB Cream or Beauty Balm seems to be making it's way into markets throughout North America. In lieu of this (and a currentcustom haul by Lorraine Stanick) I had to purchase one!

After scouring my local Sephora I settled on Dior's version of the popular asian beauty product-although it burned a hole through my wallet (ouch!) it seemed worth trying out.

First of all I want to say that it only came in one shade and being very fair the orangey tint to this cream scared me. However, if blended correctly it looks pretty nice on my skin. A little goes a long way and it lasts all day. The formula is more thin and watery but it stayed in place on my hand long enough to take a few snaps! ;)

The packaging is fine-nothing too cutesy but the pump is extremely practical. It allows you to control how much you want while keeping everything clean and simple.
Those words seem to be recurring when it comes to this BB Cream. The finish isn't mattifying however there isn't any shimmer. Once the product settles into the skin it seems to just become a slightly 'better' version of your skin. Sounds cheesy but it's true.

My only words of caution is to watch for acne, dark spots, scarring etc. It doesn't provide amazing coverage and concealer would probably be a better option for hiding anything of importance.
Have you tried any BB Creams or have experience with this product?

Let me know! xx Veronica

  1. hey, great blog!

I have the Estee Lauder BB Cream and it works pretty well, I feel like it actually matifies your skin and lasts on your face for a long time. I would like to try Dior cream too!

  2. Have you continued using this? Because I seemed to notice after a week my skin had more of a glow. It seemed to also make some of the brown spots go away!

I want to try the Estee Lauder one too, but this made me feel like I would really like Dior's skincare products!

    1. Hi Lorraine!

I used it for about 2 weeks and noticed a slightly more even skin tone, but I am starting to feel like this product is better suited for warmer weather (june, july, august, september) when my skin is more tan and less dry. Because of this I went back to Laura Mercier foundation.

Yes! Now I am definitely interested in trying more of their products, maybe blush or just regular foundation! Let me know if you try any more :)

      xx Veronica
