Makeup Packrat

Warning: This post is irrelevant but I love it nonetheless.
Does anyone else have a hard time parting with the boxes makeup comes in? Think about it, I'm sure some graphic designer but a lot of work into that box. Not to mention the executives who has to give it the 'a-okay'. To me it's all part of the presentation. We ouu and ahh over the  sleek mascara tube and the smooth glass bottle of foundation but what about the box they come in? Over the years (yes years, I know I am pathetic) I've saved a variety of boxes, eventually they are thrown out. Today I thought I'd photograph some of my favourites before I get rid of them.
What is the best box you've ever seen?

  4. I used to keep boxes for certain things, such as my MAC lipsticks. But then I realised there wasn't much point in keeping them and off to the recycling bin they went! xo

  5. Good point haha! I used to keep some boxes, IDK why.. but makeup-wise my fave boxes are from Benefit. They're so vintage/pin-up girl looking. Outside of makeup, I love Agent Provocateur boxes. I keep them (and the bags too, haha!) xx

  6. You're not the only one I do this as well! I am a sucker for packaging and it seems a shame to throw away such lovely boxes. I also hold onto perfume bottle which are empty! x

    1. That's a good point because with the perfume the glass bottle is a big part of the cost :)

  7. Ahh, I totally agree! Now I feel slightly more sane! When I go away, I package my makeup back in their boxes, so that way I feel slightly less crazed, and have a purpose for actually keeping the boxes. It makes me think the products are more protected when my bags are crushed at the airport!

  8. I agree! I often save box packaging if it's pretty. Anna Sui always seem to have amazing designs on theirs so I never want to throw them out! x

My room is an absolute mes, I'm running out of storage space and the other day, I opened up one of my drawers and saw it was CRAMMED full of empty boxes, fom MAC's Studiofix Fluid to eyeshadow boxes by NARS, LOL. I struggled to part with them, but it had to be done. RIP :( xo

  11. One of the best packaging I have seen was a Christmas limited edition box for a Jean Paul Gaultier (I think) gift set and you wind up the box and it actually plays like a musical box, such a great idea. I also love classic packaging like chanel which is just timeless :) x
