Hi everyone! It's been a while since my last post, and since then I've gained quite a few more followers *happy dance* so welcome to all the newcomers!
I find as the seasons change I look for different qualities in lip products. My lips are not as dry and therefore require less mositurization. Instead they need more sun protection, a waterproof formula and portable packaging! These three products are my top choices. I take them to the beach, cottage, pool, restaurant, work, wherever!
Sweet Lemon Lip Butter: Besides the fact that this comes in a pot (less hygienic) I really like this lip butter. The scent is sweet, just like lemonade. The texture is actually kind of granular and has exfoliating properties. I got this product from a friend so I don't know about the cost-but regardless I think it's worth a try.
Nivea Sun: Nothing is worse than getting a sunburn on your lips (ouch)! This has SPF 30 and does a fantastic job protecting your lips. The product itself reminds me of chalk, do you see what I mean? Thick, yellow tube? It is also waterproof and though it won't help with dry lips it in no way makes it worse. The one downside is that it does give off a yellowy-white colour, however this fades.
Carmex Lip Ointment: This is an old favourite that I use all year round. It has a strong smell and strong repairing abilities. My lips can literally be so chapped they are bleeding and this soothes and calms them. Never fails to impress me. The instructions say to apply no more than 3 to 4 times per day. I would agree with this, as impressive as the ointment is, the ingredients are strong. Can't just slab this on like you would a lip gloss!
What are some of your favourite summer lip products? Anything I need to try? Hope you're having a good start to July :)
Great picks, I have never tried the Carmex before but this product sounds great :)

Thanks Charlee! I forgot to mention how affordable the Carmex lip ointment is too (another added bonus)!
DeleteI've heard great things about Carmex lip products! I'm using the Rose Vasaline at the moment, simply I have a lot of it but I'd like the try the Figs & Rogue balms x
ReplyDeleteI'll have to keep my eye out for the Rose Vasaline!
DeleteI've used Carmex before but in a pot which like you say is less hygienic. I lip scrub would be something I'd recommend, it will help get the most out of your lip products. Lush do a sugar based one which is pretty good and I prefer it to the far more expensive clarins version.

I'v heard about the price of the Clarins lip scrub, my wallet hurts just thinking about it. Next time I am in lush I will take a peek at their sugar based lip scrub.
DeleteGreat post. This is so strange because these 3 lip products are my fave too! Nivea, carmex and body shop :) Have you tried the new body shop born lippys in the stick form? They are amazing and i have been using the strawberry one constantly now because it smells so yummy and very moisturising! The lemon scented products from the body shop are my favourite too. Thanks for sharing~x
